Role Overview
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Building Science Engineer to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 10 years of experience in building science, with appropriate licensure and accreditations. This role involves working on innovative projects to improve building performance, sustainability, and energy efficiency.
Responsibilities
- Conduct building performance assessments and energy audits.
- Develop and implement strategies for improving building energy efficiency.
- Collaborate with architects, engineers, and construction teams to integrate building science principles into design and construction processes.
- Perform simulations and modeling to predict building performance.
- Analyze data from building monitoring systems to identify areas for improvement.
- Ensure compliance with relevant building codes and standards.
- Provide technical support and guidance to project teams.
- Prepare detailed reports and presentations on findings and recommendations.
- Stay updated with the latest advancements in building science and sustainability practices.
- Facade Design: Develop and evaluate facade systems for new and existing buildings to enhance energy performance and aesthetics.
- Restoration: Lead and manage projects focused on the restoration and preservation of building facades, ensuring structural integrity and historical accuracy.
- Commissioning: Oversee the commissioning process for building systems to ensure they meet design specifications and performance standards.
Key Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Building Science, Mechanical Engineering, Civil Engineering, or a related field. A Master's degree is preferred.
- Minimum of 10 years of experience in building science or a related discipline.
- Professional Engineer (PE) license or equivalent accreditation.
- Strong knowledge of building codes, standards, and regulations.
- Proficiency in building performance simulation software (e.g., EnergyPlus, eQuest).
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a team environment.
