The ideal candidate will have a comprehensive understanding of all aspects of building enclosures and possess a strong personality to effectively engage with clients and lead future projects. This role requires a professional with a P.E. or R.A. license and a passion for delivering high-quality, innovative solutions.
Key Responsibilities:
- Building Enclosure Design and Analysis:
- Perform detailed assessments of building envelope systems, including roofs, walls, windows, and foundations.
- Develop and implement design solutions to enhance building performance and durability.
- Conduct thermal, moisture, and air infiltration analyses to ensure compliance with industry standards and regulations.
Project Management:
- Lead and manage building enclosure projects from inception to completion.
- Coordinate with architects, engineers, contractors, and other stakeholders to ensure project objectives are met.
- Prepare and review project documentation, including specifications, drawings, and reports.
Client Engagement:
- Serve as the primary point of contact for clients, providing expert advice and guidance on building enclosure matters.
- Develop and maintain strong client relationships to foster trust and ensure client satisfaction.
- Present findings and recommendations to clients in a clear and professional manner.
Quality Assurance and Control:
- Conduct on-site inspections and evaluations to verify the quality and performance of building enclosure systems.
- Identify and address potential issues or deficiencies in construction practices.
- Ensure all work complies with relevant codes, standards, and best practices.
Research and Development:
- Stay current with advancements in building enclosure technologies and materials.
- Participate in industry conferences, seminars, and training programs to enhance professional knowledge.
- Contribute to the development of innovative solutions and best practices within the company.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Architecture, or a related field.
- P.E. (Professional Engineer) or R.A. (Registered Architect) license.
- 3-10 years of experience in building enclosure consulting or a related field.
- In-depth knowledge of building envelope systems, materials, and construction methods.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Proficiency in relevant software and tools (e.g., AutoCAD, Revit, thermal analysis software).
