Job Summary:
As a Building Automation Design Engineer, you will be responsible for designing and developing automation systems that integrate HVAC, lighting, security, and energy management. You will collaborate with project managers, clients, and field teams to create customized solutions that optimize building performance, ensure user comfort, and maximize energy efficiency.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design and develop Building Automation Systems (BAS) for HVAC, lighting, and energy management.
- Create detailed system designs, wiring diagrams, and technical drawings using CAD or other design software.
- Select appropriate sensors, controllers, and communication devices for automation projects.
- Collaborate with project managers and engineers to ensure designs meet project specifications and client requirements.
- Program, configure, and integrate BAS systems, ensuring proper functionality and communication between components.
- Conduct system testing, verification, and troubleshooting during commissioning.
- Provide technical support to clients and assist in the training of end-users.
- Stay current with industry standards, building codes, and emerging BAS technologies.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field.
- 3+ years of experience in designing Building Automation Systems.
- Proficiency with BAS platforms such as Honeywell, Siemens, Tridium, or Johnson Controls.
- Strong knowledge of HVAC systems, energy management, and system integration.
- Proficient in AutoCAD or similar design software.
- Familiarity with communication protocols like BACnet, Modbus, or LonWorks.
- Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and communication skills.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
