We are currently seeking qualified Structural Engineers to join a growing team in providing design services for State, County, and Municipal clients, primarily in the Chicagoland area. This is an exciting opportunity to work on a wide range of transportation structures and collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to deliver impactful infrastructure projects.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design & Analysis: Lead design efforts for various transportation structures, including bridges, retaining walls, box culverts, and more. Utilize industry-standard software tools and design codes (AASHTO LRFD) to complete detailed calculations, structural analysis, and CAD drawings.
- Design Elements: Work on a wide variety of structural components, including steel girders, prestressed concrete girders, bridge decks, abutments, pier caps, spread footings, drilled shafts, soldier pile walls, gravity walls, and more.
- Project Deliverables: Develop key project documents such as Bridge Condition Reports, Structure Type Studies, Technical Memoranda, Final Contract Plans, Construction Specifications, and Estimates of Cost & Time.
- Coordination & Collaboration: Work closely with other engineers and disciplines (roadway, traffic, drainage, geotechnical, utilities, etc.) to ensure cohesive project development and timely delivery.
- Construction Support: Review shop drawings, respond to field RFIs, and participate in site visits to assess existing structures for potential repair, rehabilitation, or replacement.
Desired Skills & Qualifications:
- A degree in Civil Engineering or related field with a focus on structural design.
- Experience in the design of transportation structures such as bridges, culverts, and retaining walls.
- Proficiency with industry-standard software (e.g., AutoCAD, MicroStation, structural analysis tools) and familiarity with relevant design codes (AASHTO LRFD, etc.).
- Strong problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a collaborative team.
