A leading client in the mechanical engineering and construction industry is seeking a highly skilled and experienced BIM Manager to join their team. This fully remote role focuses exclusively on managing Building Information Modeling (BIM) processes for mechanical projects across the USA. The ideal candidate will bring expertise in mechanical systems, BIM technology, and team leadership to ensure seamless project execution.
Key Responsibilities:
BIM Strategy Development:
- Develop and oversee the implementation of BIM execution plans tailored to mechanical projects.
- Ensure all modeling activities align with industry best practices and client-specific standards.
Project Coordination:
- Collaborate with design and construction teams to coordinate mechanical systems, including HVAC, plumbing, and fire protection.
- Manage model integration, conduct clash detection, and drive resolution of design conflicts.
Team Leadership:
- Lead and support a team of BIM Coordinators and specialists to deliver high-quality results.
- Provide training, mentorship, and technical support to junior team members.
Quality Assurance:
- Conduct detailed model reviews to ensure accuracy and compliance with project requirements.
- Oversee QA/QC processes for all BIM-related deliverables.
Collaboration & Communication:
- Serve as the primary point of contact for all BIM-related activities on mechanical projects.
- Liaise with clients, contractors, and other stakeholders to ensure project objectives are met.
Software Utilization:
- Use tools such as Revit, Navisworks, and AutoCAD to create, manage, and coordinate BIM models.
- Stay abreast of advancements in BIM technologies and recommend enhancements to existing workflows.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field.
- A minimum of 5 years' experience in BIM management, with a strong focus on mechanical systems.
- Proficiency in BIM software, including Revit, Navisworks, and AutoCAD.
- Expertise in mechanical systems design and coordination, including HVAC, plumbing, and fire protection.
- Strong leadership and project management skills, with experience managing remote teams preferred.
- Familiarity with US mechanical codes and standards.
- Excellent organizational, analytical, and communication skills.
