We are seeking an experienced BIM Designer with expertise in water-related infrastructure projects to join our remote team. This role offers the chance to contribute to meaningful and complex design projects focused on water infrastructure, while collaborating with a talented team of professionals committed to your success.
Key Responsibilities:
- Work on moderately complex design assignments or perform advanced CADD drafting and intelligent modeling tasks with minimal supervision. Projects may involve translating high-level water infrastructure design concepts and sketches into detailed general arrangement drawings and models.
- Review manufacturers' and fabricators' drawings to ensure accuracy and integration into project designs.
- Provide technical guidance to junior team members, offering design sketches and refining technical requirements to meet project specifications.
- Calculate material requirements and perform relevant calculations based on industry standards and project-specific needs.
- Ensure the integrity of intelligent models and perform technical support tasks such as cross-checking drawings, adhering to project layering guidelines, and maintaining quality control standards.
- Act as the Intelligent Modeling Coordinator for water-focused projects, ensuring effective coordination and communication between design teams throughout the project lifecycle.
- Participate in the planning and development of water infrastructure projects and, when necessary, provide on-site or field assignment support.
- Mentor junior design and drafting personnel, reviewing their work for accuracy and ensuring adherence to company QA/QC standards.
- Manage related engineering support tasks, such as file management, drawing distribution, plotting, transmittals, and basic design calculations.
- Establish design criteria for various project phases by applying fundamental engineering principles, understanding material properties, and being familiar with construction, installation, and maintenance procedures within the water infrastructure sector.
Qualifications:
- High School diploma or equivalent, with vocational or technical training in CADD drafting and intelligent modeling.
- A minimum of 9 years of relevant experience, ideally in water infrastructure projects.
- Experience with Civil 3D and other BIM software.
- Ability to work remotely and coordinate with teams virtually.
- Travel may be required depending on project demands and workload.
