Role Overview: As a Project Engineer, you will lead and manage design efforts for both airside and landside airport infrastructure and development projects.
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare construction plans, technical specifications, studies, and reports
- Conduct quantity take-offs and calculations
- Guide CAD designers and junior staff in creating construction plans
- Perform quality reviews of your work and that of others, ensuring adherence to our quality control program
- Assist in construction administration and inspection, including preparing inspection reports, verifying material quantities, and responding to contractor submittals, RFIs, and change order requests
Qualifications:
- Proficient in FAA Advisory Circulars for airport design and construction, including runways, taxiways, aircraft parking aprons, grading/drainage, and pavement markings
- Strong technical knowledge of civil and/or airport/aviation engineering principles
- Skilled in AutoCAD Civil 3D, including horizontal and vertical control/geometry, survey data interpretation, and creating plans and profiles
- Ability to mentor and train CAD Designers and Engineers-in-Training
- Excellent technical writing skills, capable of conveying engineering decisions and concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences
- Adaptable to various team environments, with the ability to prioritize and meet multiple deadlines
Education and Experience:
- Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or a related field from an accredited college
- Professional Engineer (PE) registration in Arizona, or the ability to obtain it within 6 months of employment
- 4-8 years of engineering experience, with a preference for 3 years in aviation engineering
- At least 3 years of experience with AutoCAD Civil 3D
