Automation Controls Specialist

Role Overview:
An Automation Controls Specialist plays a versatile role in supporting customers, engaging in a wide range of activities that ensure seamless automation processes. The key responsibilities include:
Key Activities:
- Designing and implementing automation solutions based on the Rockwell Automation platform.
- Providing on-site engineering support as an integrated part of the customer's maintenance or engineering teams.
- Creating comprehensive control system design packages.
- Managing technology upgrade and migration projects.
- Performing start-up procedures for AC and DC drives.
- Developing and delivering training programs tailored to customer needs.
- Conducting plant floor audits to identify improvement opportunities.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Delivering high-quality, customer-focused automation solutions.
- Maintaining a strong grasp of industry trends and applications to build trust and credibility with customers.
- Keeping up-to-date with advancements in automation technologies.
- Collaborating with the sales and Automation Specialist teams to identify and pursue opportunities.
- Providing regular updates on project status to customers, the sales team, and the SBU Manager.
Qualifications:
- A degree is highly preferred but not required.
- 5+ years of proven experience delivering automation solutions. Proficiency with Rockwell Automation products (controllers, HMI systems) is crucial. Familiarity with Drives, Motion Control, Networking, FT Batch, FT Historian, PlantPAX, FTOptix, AssetCentre, or Safety systems is a plus.
- Strong technical background is essential.
- Excellent interpersonal and client relationship skills.
- Effective problem-solving abilities.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Proficient in commonly-used office applications (e.g., Word, Excel).
