Job Summary
My Client is a leading Independent Power Producer focused on utility scale solar and battery storage projects. They are looking for an Accounting Associate. The Accounting Associate maintains accurate books and records and analyzes financial transactions for the Company.
Job Functions
- Process general ledger entries and month-end journal entries.
- Review transaction classifications within the GAAP general ledger.
- Assist with financial statements and audit documentation.
- Perform account reconciliations.
- Manage cash and comply with project credit agreements.
- Prepare monthly sales and use tax filings and other regulatory reports.
- Review accounts payable invoices for accuracy.
- Inform management of issues and support financial data requests.
- Prepare and analyze budgets and forecasts.
- Follow emerging GAAP and interact with industry peers.
- Provide timely information to other departments.
- Complete close procedures within deadlines.
- Assist with special projects as needed.

Education/Experience
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting/Finance required; Master's degree or CPA is a plus.
- Minimum of three years in accounting.
- Basic knowledge of GAAP and accounting principles.
- Experience with regulated utility companies preferred.
- Strong Microsoft Excel skills.
- Experience with Microsoft Dynamics, Onestream, or Workiva a plus.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.
