Position Overview:
Our client is looking for a highly motivated Water Resources Engineer with 3-8 years of experience to join their growing team. This is an exciting opportunity to work on impactful transportation projects, with a focus on stormwater management, drainage design, and erosion and sediment control. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to work with key clients like MDOT, MSHA, and Baltimore County, ensuring that water resources solutions are innovative, sustainable, and compliant with all regulatory requirements.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design and implement stormwater management systems for transportation projects, including Best Management Practices (BMPs) and ensuring compliance with local and state regulations.

  • Develop and prepare erosion and sediment control plans to meet regulatory requirements for various construction projects.

  • Perform hydrologic and hydraulic modeling and analysis to support stormwater and drainage system designs.

  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to deliver water resources solutions that are cost-effective, innovative, and aligned with project timelines and budgets.

  • Interact directly with clients, regulatory agencies, and stakeholders to manage project coordination, approvals, and compliance.

  • Prepare technical reports, permit applications, design documents, and other project deliverables.

  • Participate in site inspections and field investigations to verify design implementation and compliance with project standards.

  • Stay up to date with changes in industry standards, technologies, and regulatory requirements to ensure the highest quality of work.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Environmental Engineering, or a related field.

  • 3-8 years of experience in water resources engineering, specifically with transportation projects.

  • Engineer-in-Training (EIT) certification required; Professional Engineer (PE) license preferred.

  • Strong understanding of stormwater management, drainage design, erosion and sediment control, and related regulations.

  • Proficiency in hydrologic and hydraulic modeling software (e.g., HEC-HMS, HEC-RAS, StormCAD).

  • Experience working with MDOT, MSHA, and Baltimore County is a plus.

  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to work effectively with clients, regulatory agencies, and project teams.
