Location: Hybrid (Boston, MA or Chicago, IL)

Are you passionate about driving the clean energy transition and leading high-impact teams in a dynamic, mission-driven environment? A leading renewable energy company is seeking a Vice President of Clean Energy Deployment Operations to oversee pre-deployment planning, estimation, and operational improvements for DG and/or large-scale solar and energy storage projects.

About the Role

This leadership position plays a key role in optimizing project execution by assessing early-stage risks, streamlining processes, and fostering cross-functional collaboration to drive efficiency and scalability. The ideal candidate will bring a strong background in solar and/or energy storage operations, experience leading high-performing teams, and a data-driven approach to continuous improvement.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead pre-deployment planning, estimation, and operational process improvements to optimize project execution.
  • Oversee the pre-construction phase, ensuring risk mitigation strategies align with deployment objectives.
  • Mentor and guide estimation teams to enhance cost tracking, pricing accuracy, and workflow digitization.
  • Drive cross-functional collaboration with development, finance, legal, and engineering teams to streamline project lifecycles.
  • Implement process automation and best practices to improve efficiency, reduce bottlenecks, and enhance project scalability.
  • Foster a culture of operational excellence through continuous improvement and performance-driven leadership.

Qualifications:

  • 10+ years of experience in solar and/or energy storage operations, with a background in project management.
  • 5+ years of leadership experience driving strategic planning and operational execution.
  • Hands-on experience with continuous process improvement methodologies (certifications in Lean, Six Sigma, or similar preferred).
  • Proven ability to lead teams, drive collaboration, and optimize project workflows.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to identify process gaps and implement scalable solutions.
  • Experience working in a fast-paced, high-growth environment with a strong commitment to clean energy.

This is a hybrid position based in Boston, MA or Chicago, IL with in-office collaboration expected three days per week.
