Vice President of Human Resources
We're seeking an experienced Human Resources Director to lead and develop the HR function for a fast-growing organization in the data center sector. This role will be instrumental in shaping and driving the company's talent strategy, ensuring compliance with employment regulations, and fostering a high-performing, engaged workforce. Reporting directly to the COO and working closely with the CFO, this position will oversee a team member and support a workforce of over 160 employees.
Key Responsibilities
Employee Relations and Performance Management
- Act as a trusted advisor between management and employees, providing guidance on employee relations issues and conflict resolution.
- Support and coach managers on performance management, including motivation, disciplinary issues, promotions, and retention strategies.
- Advise on employment law matters, including wage and hour laws, equal employment opportunity, and harassment policies across multiple states.
Recruitment and Staffing
- Lead the full recruitment cycle, from job posting and candidate sourcing to interviews and selection.
- Manage job compensation assessments to ensure competitive and fair offers.
- Oversee applicant tracking and onboarding systems.
- Partner with external recruitment firms and staffing agencies to meet hiring needs.
- Collaborate with Marketing on employer branding and recruitment marketing strategies.
Onboarding and Offboarding
- Manage the onboarding process to ensure a smooth transition for new hires, including orientation and training.
- Oversee the offboarding process, including conducting exit interviews to identify patterns and inform retention strategies.
- Represent the company at personnel-related hearings, when necessary.
Benefits and Compensation
- Provide employees with information about company policies, job duties, and benefits.
- Oversee the company's annual benefits enrollment and 401k audit process.
- Work with insurance brokers and benefits vendors to design competitive benefit programs.
- Manage the company's compensation structure, including salary reviews and incentive programs.
- Lead the annual merit increase and semi-annual bonus programs.
Compliance
- Stay current on employment laws and regulations to ensure company policies remain compliant.
- Maintain accurate HR records and ensure benefit plans and filings meet compliance standards.
- Handle annual compliance reporting, including EEO-1 and workers' compensation filings.
- Maintain and update the company's organizational chart and employee reports.
Training and Development
- Partner with department heads to design and implement training and professional development programs.
- Develop and execute strategies to support employee growth and career progression.
- Track and measure the success of development initiatives and adjust as needed.
Culture and Employee Engagement
- Develop and implement programs that enhance employee engagement and workplace culture.
- Coordinate with internal teams to communicate employee events, training, and wellness programs.
- Analyze employee feedback and performance data to improve company policies and practices.
- Promote a positive, inclusive, and collaborative work environment.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field.
- 10+ years of human resources experience, including strategic talent management in a growth environment.
- PHR, SPHR, SHRM, or SHRM-SCP certification preferred.
Skills and Competencies
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Strong leadership and conflict resolution abilities.
- Highly organized with a keen attention to detail.
- Deep understanding of employment laws and HR best practices.
- Experience with HR information systems and data analysis.
