Essential Functions and Responsibilities:
- Lead the development of traffic analyses, engineering reports, and various transportation studies.
- Plan, schedule, and coordinate detailed phases of engineering work.
- Ensure project completion by deadlines and maintain quality standards.
- Provide oversight and mentoring to traffic/design engineers.
- Develop and monitor project scope, pricing, schedules, and budgets.
- Manage technical resources and prepare invoices.
- Coordinate with Section Heads and Office Managers on marketing proposals.
- Familiar with design plans for traffic signals, signing, lighting, pavement markings, ITS, and maintenance projects.
- Develop Project Management Plans and manage subconsultants.
- Support Section Heads in developing extra work order requests and proposals.
- Attend client meetings and presentations.
Required Skills:
- Strong written and oral communication skills.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office, Synchro/SimTraffic, SIDRA, VISSIM, and MicroStation.
- Excellent interpersonal and organizational skills.
Required Experience:
- Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or related field from an ABET-accredited program.
- 10+ years of experience in traffic engineering.
- Professional Engineer (PE) License in VA.
- Project/task management and proposal development experience.
- PTOE or PMP certification.
- Experience with local clients at the county and state level.
- Experience with multiple project delivery methods (Design-Bid-Build, Design-Build, P3).
- Experience managing multidisciplinary project teams.
