Job Summary: The Service Manager will oversee the daily operations of the Service department, ensuring top-notch customer service and quality workmanship for all clients. This position involves managing staff, directing the department's sales and service activities, and ensuring the department remains profitable.

Position Responsibilities:

  • Oversee daily departmental operations, including scheduling, generating service tickets, communicating with field staff, and building client relationships.
  • Provide strong leadership to the Service department, focusing on employee development and growth.
  • Develop, sell, estimate, and bid on projects.
  • Review contracts and proposals to ensure the scope of work aligns with customer satisfaction and company profitability.
  • Collaborate with Marketing and Sales teams to generate leads, boost sales, and promote services.
  • Conduct regular job site visits to ensure projects meet customer and company standards.
  • Address and resolve departmental issues promptly.
  • Ensure timely processing of service billings and assist in collecting overdue accounts receivable related to service work.
  • Adhere to safety standards to maintain a safe and clean working environment.
  • Coordinate job site inspections.
  • Participate in internal and external meetings as required.
  • Hire, train, and develop Service department staff.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.

Position Requirements:

  • A minimum of 8 years of experience in the commercial roofing industry is essential.
  • At least 4 years of managerial or supervisory experience is required.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of various commercial roofing systems and manufacturers, including TPO, PVC, modified, and built-up.
  • Ability to read, analyse, and interpret general business documents, job specifications, technical procedures, and government regulations.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
  • Strong ability to build and maintain relationships with clients, vendors, and coworkers.
  • Capability to climb ladders and visit commercial roof sites.
  • Regularly able to lift 25+ lbs., and occasionally able to lift 50+ lbs.
  • Valid driver's license with the ability to travel throughout the assigned territory. Air travel may be required less than 10% of the time.
  • High school diploma is required; college coursework is preferred.

Working Conditions:

  • The role involves working in an office environment with standard office equipment and exposure to noise and temperature variations. Additionally, there will be exposure to typical job site hazards such as climbing ladders and handling construction materials, as well as working at heights and in varying temperatures.
  • The job requires extensive sitting, standing, bending, and walking. The ability to climb ladders and regularly lift more than 25 lbs., with occasional lifting of up to 50 lbs., is necessary.
  • Travel is primarily local, within a one-hour radius, with occasional air travel required.

Compensation: $75,000 to $90,000; DOE
