Senior Project Manager

We are seeking a seasoned and strategic Senior Project Manager to lead Transmission projects for one of the top utility contractors in the Northeast. This is a high-impact leadership role with full oversight and oversight of key transmission projects. We are looking for a forward-thinking builder who thrives in a dynamic environment, champions team culture, and has a proven record of delivering complex infrastructure projects.

Key Responsibilities

  • Take full leadership over Transmission operations within the Power & Energy division.
  • Shape and drive the strategic direction of the business segment to ensure long-term success.
  • Lead, mentor, and grow a high-performing team, while nurturing a strong and positive company culture.
  • Cultivate and strengthen partnerships with clients, subcontractors, engineers, and other key stakeholders.
  • Promote and enforce the company's Health, Safety & Environmental (HSE) standards across all projects and teams.
  • Own the financial performance of your project portfolio, managing budgets, margins, and cost controls.
  • Ensure all projects meet or exceed quality standards, both internally and as expected by clients.
  • Collaborate with the estimating team to target new business opportunities and craft winning proposals that sustain a strong project pipeline.
  • Provide guidance on contract management and change order negotiations to protect project success.
  • Utilize advanced expertise in CPM scheduling to address delays, optimize timelines, and align resources effectively across your portfolio.
  • Spot and resolve productivity issues by supporting teams in developing effective recovery plans.
  • Identify strategic opportunities to invest in equipment and resources based on upcoming project needs.

Qualifications & Requirements

  • A bachelor's degree in engineering, construction management, or a related field - or an equivalent mix of technical training and hands-on experience.
  • A minimum of 15 years in the construction industry, with at least 5 years focused on transmission projects preferred.
  • Deep, well-rounded knowledge of construction practices, including technology, equipment, field operations, estimating, scheduling, budgeting, and safety.
  • Strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills - able to inspire teams and collaborate with stakeholders at all levels.
  • Willingness to travel up to 30% based on project demands.
  • A highly analytical mindset paired with solid business judgment and decision-making skills.
