We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Superintendent with a strong background in heavy civil construction to oversee and manage complex construction projects across Ohio. The ideal candidate will have expertise in underground utilities, excavation, road construction, and related heavy civil works. Key Responsibilities:
Project Management: Oversee the daily operations of heavy civil construction projects, including underground utilities, excavation, and road construction. Ensure projects are completed on time, within budget, and to the highest standards.
Team Leadership: Supervise, mentor, and lead a diverse crew of workers, subcontractors, and vendors. Foster a collaborative, safe, and productive work environment.
Quality Control & Compliance: Ensure all work adheres to company policies, industry standards, safety regulations, and client specifications. Monitor project quality and provide guidance on best practices to avoid rework or delays.
Scheduling & Coordination: Develop, maintain, and update project schedules. Coordinate with project managers, engineers, and other stakeholders to ensure effective communication and timely delivery of materials and resources.
Safety Management: Lead and enforce safety protocols on all job sites. Conduct safety meetings and ensure adherence to OSHA regulations and company safety policies.
Problem Solving: Quickly identify and address any issues or delays on the job site, from technical challenges to personnel or equipment problems.
Traveling: Travel regularly throughout Ohio to various project sites, ensuring that all projects are running smoothly and within set parameters.
Required Qualifications:
Experience: Minimum of 5 years of experience in heavy civil construction, specifically in underground utilities, excavation, and road construction.
Leadership: Proven experience in leading and managing construction teams, including subcontractors, laborers, and other stakeholders.
Technical Expertise: Strong understanding of construction methods, blueprints, specifications, and equipment used in heavy civil construction.
Safety: Knowledge of OSHA standards and a commitment to maintaining a safe work environment.
Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Ability to liaise with clients, engineers, and project managers.
Travel Flexibility: Willingness and ability to travel throughout Ohio to different job sites as required.
Preferred Qualifications:
Education: A degree or certification in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or a related field is preferred but not required.
Certifications: OSHA 30, First Aid/CPR, and other relevant certifications.
