Location: Seattle, WA
Salary: $140,000- $170,000 + Bonus(s)
Reports To: Senior Project Manager / Vice President of Operations
THE OPPORTUNITY:
They are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Heavy Civil Project Manager to join our dynamic team in Seattle, WA. As a key player in their general contracting company, you will oversee and manage large-scale heavy civil construction projects, including roadwork, utilities, earthworks, and other infrastructure projects. This is an excellent opportunity for a motivated leader with a track record of successful project delivery, team leadership, and an eye for safety, quality, and budget control.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Lead the planning, execution, and completion of heavy civil construction projects, ensuring safety, quality, and efficiency standards are met.
- Manage project budgets, schedules, and resources, ensuring the timely completion of projects within scope and budget.
- Oversee the development of project plans, coordinating with engineers, subcontractors, and other stakeholders.
- Act as the primary point of contact for clients, stakeholders, and internal teams to ensure clear communication and positive relationships.
- Conduct regular site visits and meetings with project teams to review progress, resolve issues, and ensure adherence to safety protocols.
- Monitor and manage subcontractors and vendors, ensuring their performance meets contractual obligations and quality standards.
- Manage risk and change orders, including timely documentation, tracking, and cost assessments.
- Prepare and present project status reports to senior management, highlighting progress, issues, and opportunities.
- Lead and mentor project engineers and field staff, providing guidance and promoting professional development.
- Collaborate with the safety team to ensure the project meets all safety standards and regulatory requirements.
EXPERIENCE NEEDED:
- 7+ years of experience in project management within the heavy civil construction industry.
- Proven experience managing large-scale infrastructure projects, such as roads, bridges, utilities, or earthworks.
- Experience working with government agencies, municipalities, or in the public sector on civil infrastructure projects.
- Demonstrated ability to manage project budgets, schedules, and resources effectively.
- Strong experience in contract management, risk management, and project scheduling software (Procore, Primavera, MS Project, etc.).
- Experience managing and leading project teams, including engineers, field supervisors, and subcontractors.
- Familiarity with Washington state construction regulations, safety standards, and permitting processes.
- Strong problem-solving abilities and the ability to handle high-pressure situations on active job sites.
QUALIFICATIONS NEEDED:
- Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field (preferred).
- PMP (Project Management Professional) or similar certification is a plus.
- Strong knowledge of heavy civil construction practices, techniques, and materials.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build relationships with clients, subcontractors, and internal teams.
- Ability to work independently while also collaborating effectively within a team.
- Proficient in MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook), and construction management software.
- Valid driver's license and reliable transportation.
