Position Overview:
Our client is seeking a full-time Project Manager and/or Senior Project Manager to join their team in Prince George's County, Maryland. This hybrid role involves both field and office-based responsibilities, supporting ecosystem restoration and nature-based resilience projects throughout the region. The ideal candidate will bring strong project management experience, a passion for environmental sustainability, and a proven track record in ecosystem restoration.

This is a challenging and rewarding role, ideal for an individual with deep knowledge and experience in managing large-scale restoration projects. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring that projects are delivered on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards. Strong interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills are essential, as this role requires collaboration with multiple stakeholders, including clients, contractors, and internal teams.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and manage ecosystem restoration projects, including stormwater management, wetland, stream, and living shoreline restoration.
  • Coordinate and communicate effectively with internal teams, external partners, clients, and stakeholders.
  • Oversee construction activities, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements, safety standards, and restoration goals.
  • Develop and manage project budgets, schedules, and resources, ensuring projects are delivered efficiently and within scope.
  • Supervise and mentor junior staff, providing support to senior team members on business development and project planning.
  • Prepare technical reports, proposals, and project documentation.
  • Ensure environmental and safety standards are maintained at all stages of the project.
  • Support post-construction monitoring, including data analysis and reporting.

Minimum Skills & Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree in Water Resources, Environmental Science, Aquatic Ecology, Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field.
  • 5+ years of Project Management experience for Project Managers, 10+ years for Senior Project Managers.
  • Proven ability to successfully manage large-scale ecosystem restoration projects, delivering on time and within budget.
  • Strong communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
  • Excellent technical writing abilities and attention to detail.
  • Proficiency in MS Word, MS Excel, PowerPoint, and Adobe Acrobat.
  • Familiarity with ArcMap, AutoCAD, and project/resource management software is a plus.
  • Ability to manage sub-consultants, subcontractors, and project tasks, ensuring the successful completion of multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Capability to work in physically demanding outdoor environments and manage field operations effectively.

Desired Skills & Experience:

  • Project Management Professional (PMP) certification.
  • Experience in aquatic ecosystem restoration programs, particularly wetland, stream, and shoreline restoration and stormwater management.
  • Experience leading or managing construction oversight for ecosystem restoration projects.
  • Ability to develop, track, and manage project budgets, including preparing and reviewing cost estimates.
  • Knowledge of permitting processes (local, state, and federal) and experience with permitting applications and approvals for restoration projects.
  • Experience in post-construction monitoring, data analysis, and report development.
