Role Overview
The Project Architect will play a critical role in leading and executing federal and institutional projects from concept to completion. This position requires a strong technical background, the ability to navigate government standards and procurement processes, and excellent coordination skills with multidisciplinary teams. The ideal candidate thrives in a hybrid environment with four remote workdays and one in-office day per week for team collaboration and client meetings.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead architectural design and project execution for federal and institutional projects, ensuring compliance with government regulations and client requirements.
- Oversee the development of construction documents, technical detailing, and quality control processes.
- Manage coordination with consultants, contractors, and government agencies to ensure seamless project delivery.
- Navigate federal procurement processes, including working within GSA standards, DoD Unified Facilities Criteria (UFC), and other agency-specific guidelines.
- Participate in client presentations, stakeholder meetings, and project reviews.
- Utilize BIM (Revit), AutoCAD, and other industry tools to develop high-quality architectural solutions.
- Mentor junior staff and contribute to a culture of professional development and knowledge sharing.
Qualifications
- Licensed Architect (preferred) or on track for licensure.
- 7+ years of experience in architecture, with a strong focus on government, federal, or institutional projects.
- Proficiency in Revit, AutoCAD, and Adobe Creative Suite; familiarity with Newforma, Bluebeam, and Procore is a plus.
- Knowledge of federal and institutional building codes, standards, and procurement processes.
- Strong technical, communication, and leadership skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a hybrid environment (four days remote, one day in-office)
