Lead Electrical Engineer - Power Systems/Low Voltage
Job Summary: A company has an opportunity for a Department Lead / Senior Electrical Field and Design Engineer seeking career growth and new opportunities. The ideal candidate is a self-starter who can work independently and is also a strong team player. This position leads a team of Engineers responsible for the assessment and design of electrical power systems from 480V to 15kV. The role requires periodic travel across the United States, up to 25% of the time.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Oversee project scopes and schedules
- Manage Engineering checklists
- Lead data collection efforts
- Analyze field data to develop unique solutions
- Perform and complete low voltage design work
- Complete and review studies
- SKM modeling/validation
- Manage project budgets
- Oversee project submittals
- AHJ and code oversight
- Lead development of construction documents
- Lead project plan development
- Participate in field work as necessary
- Maintain thorough understanding of project details and needs, and work with team members to ensure proper communication throughout the duration of each project
Skills and Abilities Required:
- Expert knowledge and understanding of NEC and other NFPA standards
- Proficiency in AutoCAD, Revit, Microstation, and/or other technical CAD packages
- Leadership skills with a strong work ethic and the ability to lead a team of Engineers
- Strong organizational and multi-tasking skills
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities
- Strong communication skills and ability to interact in a team environment
- Time management skills with the ability to meet deadlines
- Self-motivated engineer who is equally comfortable in the field or at a computer
Education and Experience Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering (BSEE)
- 7+ years of recent and relevant experience in low voltage design and/or power system studies
- Electrical PE license
Job Location: The main office is located in Tennessee, but this is a remote position with most work being conducted from home and some work being conducted in the field. The candidate should live within 1 hour of a commercial airport.
Pay and Benefits:
- Salary: $120,000 - $160,000 annually (based on education and experience)
- Annual bonus up to 25% of base salary
