Forensic Structural Engineer

LVI is excited to represent a leading full-service engineering and consulting firm with offices across the Southeast, renowned for its forensic investigation team. They boast specialists with expertise in Structural Engineering, Leak/Condition Assessments, Roofing & Waterproofing and more.

Position Overview: As a Structural Engineer, you will oversee commercial and multi-family forensic investigations, structural repair and restoration projects. Building system types include, but not limited to, steel, concrete, masonry, wood, roofing and building envelopes. You will have the opportunity to collaborate with a multi-disciplinary team to diagnose and restore large structures.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with clients to develop effective remediation strategies.
  • Conduct site visits and inspections to identify potential issues and hazards.
  • Manage projects from inception to completion, ensuring adherence to deadlines and budgets.
  • Communicate progress and resolve issues with clients.
  • Conduct structural engineering analysis and design.
  • Support the evaluation phase, including field reviews, report writing, developing repair options, and construction cost estimates.
  • Provide expert witness testimony of findings at deposition or trial

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Structural or Civil Engineering.
  • 5+ years of relevant experience with demonstrated growth.
  • Professional Engineer (PE) license in North Carolina.
  • Strong technical, written, and verbal communication skills.
  • Excellent people management skills and a customer service focus.
