Confidential Opportunity: Project Architect
A leading architectural firm is seeking an experienced Project Architect with 8-10+ years of expertise to oversee teams and projects. This role requires a strong technical background while maintaining design excellence. The selected candidate will manage projects through all design phases, ensuring quality execution and adherence to schedules. Responsibilities include overseeing project teams, coordinating with clients, consultants, and contractors, and managing construction administration.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and manage multiple projects simultaneously with strategic oversight from leadership.
- Develop architectural plans and details, incorporating innovative solutions with thorough material research and documentation.
- Navigate NYC DOB permitting, construction documentation, and local regulatory compliance.
- Interpret NYC Planning and Zoning resolutions and assess their impact on potential sites.
- Supervise the preparation of technical drawings and ensure compliance with project documentation.
- Oversee construction administration, including site visits, surveys, and inspections.
- Research and specify new materials and products.
- Maintain and enhance CAD, Revit, and Rhino libraries.
Qualifications & Skills
- Education: Bachelor's degree in Architecture (Master's preferred).
- Licensing: Registered Architect in New York.
- Technical Proficiency: Extensive experience with AutoCAD, Revit, Microsoft Suite, and Adobe Suite; familiarity with Rhino, 3D Max, and SketchUp.
- Construction Experience: At least 5 years of on-site project coordination and construction oversight.
- Documentation Expertise: Minimum 3 years leading construction document production and technical detailing.
- Fabrication Knowledge: Ability to translate design intent into fabrication drawings and hands-on experience in a workshop environment.
- Communication Skills: Strong written and verbal communication across reports, specifications, and client correspondence.
