Electrical/Control Engineer

Primary Job Responsibilities

  • Possess extensive knowledge in the design and construction of heavy industrial electrical/control systems.
  • Lead technical design efforts and provide direction as needed.
  • Exercise independent judgment with minimal oversight from management.
  • Oversee electrical and controls design across multiple projects.
  • Independently develop engineering drawings and documents.
  • Provide technical solutions for complex problems.
  • Perform design calculations and utilize computer-aided design tools.
  • Actively participate in project meetings as the E/C team leader.
  • Collaborate in teams for large, multi-disciplinary projects.
  • Excel in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
  • Conduct fieldwork and observe construction processes.
  • Monitor project budgets and schedules.
  • Mentor and support junior engineers.
  • Travel occasionally within the Kentucky/Tennessee/Illinois/Missouri region.
  • Develop proposals, perform material take-offs, and estimate construction costs.

Qualifications

  • 4-7 years of relevant experience.
  • A 4-year BSEE degree from an ABET-accredited university is preferred.
  • Eligible to obtain a Kentucky Professional Engineer license within six months.
  • Medium voltage experience is a plus.
  • Proficiency in Computer Aided Design (e.g., AutoCAD).
  • Strong computer skills (Microsoft Word, Excel, etc.).
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with engineers and designers.
  • Comfort working on job sites, gathering information, and occasionally being near hazardous equipment and machinery.
