We are looking for a motivated mid-to-senior level professional to join our team of multi-disciplinary consultants in the role of a Construction Consultant. The ideal candidate will have experience with site visits, condition assessments, documentation of findings, confirming scope of work, and evaluating repair and replacement costs for various types of structures, including commercial, residential, industrial, marine, and inland properties. Experience in reviewing documents, analyzing schedules, contracts, change orders, daily reports, and providing technical reports, as well as construction litigation experience, is a plus.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct field visits to document as-built conditions and assess damage to structures from natural events (e.g., wind, water, fire, earthquakes) or human-induced factors (e.g., design or construction errors).
  • Evaluate repair estimates for scope and pricing accuracy.
  • Understand historical data and pricing for developing or assessing repair and replacement cost estimates.
  • Assess site risks and exposures, analyzing their impact on cost estimates.
  • Identify potential hidden risks and include them in cost estimates.
  • Assist in preparing work scopes, bid instructions, and relevant solicitation materials.
  • Conduct research to support assessments and opinions.
  • Communicate effectively with clients, contractors, consultants, and governing officials.
  • Manage multiple projects to ensure they are completed on time and within budget.
  • Develop and maintain strong client relationships.
  • Willingness to travel on short notice, when necessary.

Required Qualifications:

  • 5+ years of experience, including projects valued over $5 million.
  • Bachelor's degree in Construction Management or a related field, or equivalent industry experience.
  • Strong analytical and interpretive skills for preparing detailed and conceptual construction cost estimates.
  • Experience in property loss estimating is preferred.
  • Proficiency in project management.
  • Extensive experience with estimating software such as Xactimate, RS Means, Microsoft Excel, and on-screen takeoff tools.
  • Restoration and remediation industry experience, including fire and smoke damage restoration, structural drying, mold remediation, and clerk of works services, is desirable.
  • Excellent mathematical, computational, and communication skills (both written and verbal).
  • Experience providing litigation support, including expert testimony in depositions, trials, mediation, and arbitration, is a plus.
