Job Description

An exciting opportunity is available for an experienced Client Service Leader to lead client engagement and business development for municipal water services across multiple private, municipal, and state agency clients in the greater New England market. This firm has been providing services in the municipal infrastructure sector in New England for over 75 years, working on some of the largest infrastructure projects for major clients throughout the region. They are looking for someone to continue this tradition by managing existing client portfolios and developing strategies to grow business with new clients.

Responsibilities:

  • Developing client engagement strategies and pursuit plans for new water, wastewater, and environmental business in the New England region.
  • Aligning company-wide strategies with local business development activities.
  • Managing the overall financial performance of projects within a client portfolio.
  • Acting as a visible advocate of the firm through active participation in professional and industry organisations.
  • Assembling and leading client and project teams to meet client needs and project requirements.
  • Leading proposal efforts and presentations.
  • Implementing best practices in sales and business development processes.
  • Negotiating critical issues with clients and potential teaming partners and sub consultants.
  • Developing technical approaches and strategies.
  • Contributing to individual projects while meeting billable hour targets.
  • Meeting annual sales goals from both existing and new clients.
  • Managing business development budgets and costs.
  • Collaborating with other client service leaders and internal business units to meet business objectives.
  • Following and implementing standardized business practices.
  • Participating in leadership training programs to reinforce core competencies and obtain requisite certifications within six months of onboarding.
  • Upholding the company's core values.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree.
  • 15 years of related experience.
  • Ability to travel domestically and/or internationally as required based on project and business needs.
  • Equivalent additional directly related experience will be considered in lieu of a degree.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • 15 years of experience with municipal water or wastewater projects post-Bachelor's degree.
  • Proven success in winning and managing water/wastewater projects in the greater New England market (with southeastern MA experience preferred).
  • Strong client relationships with water/wastewater clients in the New England region.
  • Bachelor's degree in an engineering discipline and/or Professional Engineer (P.E.) certification.
  • Strong interpersonal, time management, organisation, and listening skills.
