We are recruiting on behalf of a leading environmental consultancy seeking a Botanist to join their Perth office. This is an exciting opportunity to work on diverse ecological projects across Western Australia, contributing to environmental impact assessments, conservation planning, and flora surveys.
About the Role
As a Botanist, you will be responsible for conducting field-based and desktop assessments to support environmental approvals and conservation initiatives. You will collaborate with a multidisciplinary team of ecologists and environmental scientists to deliver high-quality, science-driven solutions.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct botanical surveys, vegetation mapping, and ecological assessments
- Identify and classify native and introduced plant species
- Prepare technical reports and contribute to environmental impact assessments
- Provide advice on flora conservation and rehabilitation strategies
- Collaborate with internal teams and external stakeholders to ensure project success
About You
- Tertiary qualification in Botany, Environmental Science, Ecology, or a related discipline
- Experience in field-based flora surveys and ecological assessments (WA experience preferred)
- Strong plant identification skills and understanding of WA vegetation communities
- Familiarity with relevant environmental legislation and approvals processes
- Ability to work independently in remote field locations as well as in a team environment
