Position Summary
They are looking for a Civil Project Engineer to join their team in Boulder, CO. This role offers the opportunity to work on high-profile projects that blend engineering expertise with creative design. The ideal candidate will be a technically strong engineer who thrives in a collaborative setting, working closely with designers, clients, and regulatory bodies to deliver projects that have a positive impact on the built environment.
What You'll Do
Lead the civil design process for site development projects, including grading, drainage, utilities, roadways, stormwater management, and erosion control
Produce and review construction documents, technical specifications, and reports
Perform site analysis, technical evaluations, and assist with permitting and regulatory approvals
Coordinate with internal teams, external consultants, and public agencies to ensure compliance with project requirements and local standards
Provide construction administration, including site visits to monitor progress and resolve design-related issues
Work closely with design teams to ensure seamless integration of civil engineering with landscape architecture concepts
Assist in project scheduling, cost estimation, and scope management
Mentor junior engineers and EITs to help them develop their technical skills
What We're Looking For
B.S. in Civil Engineering (required)
3-8 years of experience in civil site design, ideally with exposure to landscape architecture projects
EIT certification (required), with PE license or progress toward PE preferred
Proficiency in AutoCAD Civil 3D (grading, drainage, utilities, and profiles)
Strong knowledge of stormwater management, hydrology/hydraulic modeling, and local regulatory requirements
Experience with permitting processes, utility coordination, and site investigations
Excellent communication and collaboration skills
A strong interest in integrated design, working alongside landscape architects and planners
Colorado or Mountain West region experience is a plus
