Civil Engineering Assistant Project Manager - Land Development

A growing engineering and consulting firm is seeking a Civil Engineering Assistant Project Manager to join their team in Columbus, Ohio. This role will support the design and development of land development projects for commercial, institutional, and energy-related clients.

You'll collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to develop site plans, grading designs, stormwater management systems, utility layouts, and water quality best practices. The position offers exposure to all project phases-from concept and design through permitting, bidding, and construction-while working closely with clients, contractors, and regulatory agencies.

Responsibilities:

  • Assist in the preparation of civil site development plans
  • Design site layouts, grading, stormwater management, erosion control, and utilities
  • Support permitting and regulatory review processes
  • Collaborate with clients and stakeholders to ensure project goals are met
  • Contribute to technical reports, plan sets, and project documentation

Qualifications:

  • B.S. in Civil Engineering or related field
  • 5+ years of relevant civil engineering experience (site layout, grading, stormwater, erosion/sediment control)
  • EIT/F.E. certification required; willingness to pursue P.E. licensure
  • Proficiency with AutoCAD Civil 3D and hydrologic/hydraulic modeling software
  • Strong communication, time management, and mentoring skills
  • Interest in professional development and industry involvement
