Job Title: Senior Water/Wastewater Project Manager
Location: Illinois (Hybrid - offices across the state)
Salary: $150,000-$180,000 (base, plus bonus potential)

Overview:
A top-tier engineering firm is looking for a Senior Water/Wastewater Project Manager to lead impactful municipal and infrastructure projects across Illinois. This is a strategic role suited for an experienced leader passionate about driving innovative solutions in water and wastewater design and delivery.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage the full lifecycle of water and wastewater projects-from planning and design through construction and closeout.

  • Develop project scopes, budgets, and schedules while maintaining strong quality control and client satisfaction.

  • Coordinate with multidisciplinary teams, including engineers, subconsultants, contractors, and public agencies.

  • Provide technical leadership, mentorship, and oversight to junior engineers and project teams.

  • Lead client engagement efforts, contribute to proposals, and support long-term relationship development.

  • Ensure compliance with all relevant environmental, safety, and regulatory standards.

  • Actively manage project risks, resolve issues, and ensure timely, cost-effective project execution.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Civil, Environmental, or a related engineering discipline (Master's preferred).

  • Licensed Professional Engineer (PE) in Illinois or ability to obtain in a timely manner.

  • 10+ years of progressive experience in water/wastewater infrastructure, with leadership roles on large municipal or utility-driven projects.

  • Strong understanding of Illinois regulatory frameworks and permitting processes.

  • Proven success managing project teams, client relationships, and technical delivery.

Technical Skills:

  • Proficiency with Civil 3D, AutoCAD, and hydraulic modeling tools (e.g., SWMM, HEC-RAS, EPANET).

  • Familiarity with SCADA systems, GIS applications, and asset management tools.

  • Ability to interpret and develop complex technical reports and drawings.
