Substation Estimator

Our client is seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Substation Estimator to join their team in Pennsylvania. The Substation Estimator will be responsible for preparing accurate and comprehensive cost estimates for substation construction projects. This role requires a strong understanding of electrical substation construction, excellent analytical skills, and the ability to collaborate effectively with various stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities:

• Prepare detailed cost estimates for substation construction projects, including labor, materials, equipment, and subcontractor costs.
• Review project specifications, drawings, and other documentation to ensure accurate and complete estimates.
• Attend pre-bid meetings and site visits to gather information and understand project scope and site conditions.
• Collaborate with procurement, operations, safety, and proposal teams to ensure comprehensive and competitive estimates.
• Identify and analyze project risks, develop bid clarifications, and assign appropriate contingencies.
• Maintain and update estimating databases and tools to reflect current market conditions and historical data.
• Provide support during project execution by reviewing and validating cost estimates and assisting with change orders.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field.
• Minimum of 3 years of experience in substation construction estimating.
• Strong knowledge of electrical substation construction methods, materials, and terminology.
• Proficiency in estimating software and tools.
• Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Attention to detail and a commitment to accuracy.
