Job Title: Senior Analyst, Mergers & Acquisitions (M&A)

Location: Houston, TX.

Their portfolio spans across the United States, with a strong presence in ERCOT, MISO, PJM, and the Southeast regions. The company's strategy is acquisition-focused, aiming to expand their footprint and enhance their capabilities through strategic investments and divestitures.

Position Overview: The company is seeking a highly skilled and motivated Senior Analyst to join their Mergers & Acquisitions (M&A) team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in financial modeling, acquisitions, divestitures, and valuation. This role will play a critical part in supporting the company's growth strategy by identifying, evaluating, and executing M&A opportunities.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and maintain complex financial models to support the evaluation of potential acquisitions, divestitures, and other strategic initiatives.
  • Conduct thorough due diligence, including financial analysis, market research, and risk assessment.
  • Prepare detailed valuation analyses using various methodologies (e.g., DCF, comparable company analysis, precedent transactions).
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather and analyze relevant data and insights.
  • Assist in the preparation of investment memos, presentations, and other materials for senior management and board review.
  • Monitor industry trends, market conditions, and competitive landscape to identify new opportunities and inform strategic decisions.
  • Support the negotiation and execution of transaction agreements and related documentation.
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of regulatory and policy developments impacting the renewable energy sector.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Economics, Business, or a related field; MBA or CFA preferred.
  • 1-3 years of experience in M&A, PF, investment banking or corporate development, preferably within the renewable energy sector.
  • Strong financial modeling and analytical skills, with proficiency in Excel and other relevant software.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to articulate complex concepts to diverse audiences.
  • Proven ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Knowledge of the renewable energy industry and familiarity with ERCOT, MISO, PJM, and Southeast markets is a plus.
