General Superintendent

The Transmission Line General Superintendent will be responsible for managing all field operations and ensuring that construction projects are executed in accordance with the project schedule, budget, and quality standards. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in transmission line construction, a deep understanding of safety protocols, and proven leadership skills to guide and support field crews throughout the entire project lifecycle.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee all field operations for transmission line construction projects, ensuring adherence to project plans, schedules, and budgets.
  • Supervise and manage a team of field supervisors, foremen, and workers, providing direction, leadership, and support.
  • Monitor and ensure that construction activities are carried out safely, efficiently, and in compliance with all safety regulations, company policies, and industry standards.
  • Coordinate with project managers, engineers, and other stakeholders to ensure alignment on project objectives and requirements.
  • Review project plans, specifications, and work schedules, making adjustments as necessary to keep the project on track.
  • Perform daily site inspections to monitor work progress, quality, and safety compliance, identifying and addressing issues in real-time.
  • Ensure all necessary materials, equipment, and resources are available and utilized efficiently to meet project goals.
  • Ensure all field personnel receive proper training, support, and guidance in the execution of their duties, fostering a high-performance work culture.
  • Resolve any field issues or conflicts that may arise, ensuring a smooth and efficient workflow.
  • Work closely with the safety manager to implement safety programs and protocols, promoting a culture of safety on all job sites.
  • Prepare and submit regular progress reports and updates to senior management and clients.
  • Ensure compliance with all local, state, and federal regulations and industry standards.

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or GED required; Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or a related field is preferred.
  • Minimum of 8 years of experience in transmission line construction, with at least 5 years in a supervisory or management role.
  • Proven experience managing large-scale transmission line projects, including overseeing crews, equipment, and subcontractors.
  • Strong knowledge of transmission line construction techniques, equipment, and materials.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to manage and motivate diverse teams.
  • In-depth understanding of safety standards and regulatory requirements for transmission line construction.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to make decisions under pressure.
  • Ability to read and interpret construction drawings, specifications, and project schedules.
  • Proficient in MS Office and construction management software.
  • Ability to travel to various job sites as required.
  • Willingness to work in varying weather conditions and field environments.
