Position Overview:
The Plumbing Engineer will be responsible for the design and development of plumbing and fire protection systems for large-scale building projects in the Phoenix area and beyond. This role requires close collaboration with architects, mechanical engineers, and construction teams to ensure high-quality, efficient, and code-compliant designs.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design plumbing and fire protection systems, including domestic water, sanitary drainage, stormwater, and medical gas systems.
- Perform calculations, sizing, and layouts for piping, pumps, and fixtures.
- Develop construction documents, including plans, specifications, and cost estimates.
- Ensure designs meet all relevant building codes and sustainability requirements.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to coordinate project designs.
- Conduct site visits, inspections, and system troubleshooting during construction.
- Utilize Revit, AutoCAD, and other design software for detailed plumbing system modeling.
- Support project management and client presentations as needed.
Qualifications & Experience:
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Civil Engineering, or a related field.
- Professional Engineer (PE) license preferred or the ability to obtain it.
- 5+ years of experience in plumbing design for commercial, healthcare, or institutional projects.
- Proficiency in Revit, AutoCAD, and plumbing system modeling software.
- Strong knowledge of IPC, UPC, NFPA, and local Phoenix plumbing codes.
- Excellent problem-solving, communication, and teamwork skills.
