Role Overview
A Structural Engineer with 2 to 5+ years of experience is actively sought. The work will include structural design of new buildings, additions, and renovations. You will be part of an outstanding team and will grow in your knowledge of structural engineering, while gaining experience and responsibility.
Role & Responsibilities:
- Prepare complex calculations, designs, specifications, and/or reports for checking and reviewing by others.
- Check complex calculations, designs, specifications, and/or reports prepared by others.
- Assume complete responsibility for structural engineering for complex projects.
- Direct technicians and/or drafters assigned to the department.
- Coordinate work of your discipline with other disciplines.
- Make recommendations and/or decisions on unusual or complicated issues.
- Coordinate all aspects of project document completion within the company and externally with clients and other design professionals.
- Direct and assist co-workers with performing field measurements.
- Assess the requirements of a project, break it down into tasks, and work with a project manager to determine scope, budget, and staffing.
- Serve as Project Engineer on complex, single-discipline projects and complex multi-discipline projects.
- Review work of the project design team, check progress, and alert the Project Manager to needed changes to the scope or other services.
- Work with code officials and other design professionals when an interpretation or exception to the building code is required.
- Direct construction observation of others on complex projects.
Education Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering with an emphasis in Structural Engineering (Master's Degree is a plus).
- Professional Engineer (PE) license in Ohio preferred.
- Structural analysis software experience.
- Knowledge of applicable building codes.
- Commitment to staying current on the "state of the art" in your design specialty through periodicals and continuing education.
- Proficiency in the use of AutoCAD and Revit.
- Ability to manage projects as part of a team.
- Ability to maintain strong client relationships.
- Strong interpersonal skills and the desire to work as a team in constant communication.
Compensation and Benefits
- Salary Range: $80,000-$120,000 DOE
- Hourly compensation at 40 hours per week. 1.5 times overtime pay for hours over 40 per week.
- Year-end bonuses based on performance.
