Transportation Engineer
A respected local engineering firm in Albuquerque is seeking a Transportation Engineer with 4+ years of experience to support and lead design work on roadway, highway, and drainage projects across New Mexico. Key Responsibilities:
Design and prepare construction documents for transportation projects including highways, arterials, local roads, and associated drainage systems.
Develop plans, profiles, cross sections, details, and quantities using Civil 3D and MicroStation.
Conduct hydrologic and hydraulic analysis for stormwater management and drainage design.
Support project managers in preparing reports, specifications, and estimates (PS&E packages).
Coordinate with agencies such as NMDOT, counties, and municipalities to ensure compliance with local and state standards.
Collaborate with in-house engineers, drafters, and subconsultants to keep projects on schedule and within budget.
Perform occasional field visits for data collection and construction support.
Minimum Requirements:
Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or related field.
4+ years of relevant experience in transportation and/or drainage engineering.
EIT certification (PE license in NM preferred or ability to obtain within 12 months).
Proficiency in Civil 3D (required); MicroStation and OpenRoads experience is a plus.
Working knowledge of NMDOT standards and design criteria.
Strong communication and collaboration skills.
