Position Overview: We are seeking a highly experienced Senior Tunnelling Engineer to join our dynamic team in Los Angeles, CA. The ideal candidate will have over 10 years of experience working with pressurized face tunnel boring machines (TBMs) and construction management. This role is crucial for the successful delivery of our tunnelling projects, ensuring they meet the highest standards of safety, quality, and efficiency.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and manage tunnelling projects from inception to completion, ensuring adherence to project timelines and budgets.
  • Oversee the operation and maintenance of pressurized face TBMs, ensuring optimal performance and safety.
  • Coordinate with multidisciplinary teams, including geotechnical engineers, construction managers, and subcontractors.
  • Develop and implement tunnelling methodologies and construction strategies.
  • Conduct risk assessments and implement mitigation measures to ensure project safety.
  • Monitor and report on project progress, providing regular updates to senior management.
  • Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal regulations and industry standards.
  • Mentor and train junior engineers and staff, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and professional development.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Mining Engineering, or a related field; Master's degree preferred.
  • Minimum of 10 years of experience in tunnelling engineering, specifically with pressurized face TBMs.
  • Proven track record in construction management and project delivery.
  • Strong knowledge of tunnelling methodologies, geotechnical principles, and construction practices.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.
  • Professional Engineer (PE) license preferred.
  • Willingness to travel and work on-site as required.
