Role Overview
As a Structural Engineer, you will play a pivotal role in progressing various projects through different stages. Your responsibilities will include designing, reviewing the work of other engineers, conducting research to understand unique conditions, and coordinating with project architects, other consulting engineers, and contractors. You will receive guidance and advice from fellow project managers and team leads to approach designs and tackle new challenges effectively.
Role & Responsibilities:
- Collect data through visual inspections, measurements, and non-destructive testing techniques.
- Collaborate with project teams to analyze structural components, materials, and their performance for restoration.
- Prepare accurate and concise reports summarizing assessment findings, analysis results, and recommended restoration solutions.
- Create visual aids such as diagrams, sketches, and photographs to support project documentation.
- Stay updated on industry best practices, codes, standards, and regulations relevant to structural engineering and restoration.
- Work collaboratively with cross-functional teams, including architects and contractors, to provide technical expertise and support.
- Attend meetings with clients to understand project requirements and effectively communicate findings.
- Seek opportunities for professional development and technical skill enhancement through training and mentoring.
Education Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Civil or Structural Engineering from an accredited institution.
- Professional Engineer (PE) license in Kentucky
- 4+ years of relevant industry experience in structural engineering.
- Strong problem-solving and critical-thinking abilities to analyze complex structural issues.
- Excellent attention to detail and ability to document findings and prepare comprehensive reports.
- Effective communication skills, both written and verbal, to convey technical information to diverse audiences.
- Ability to work effectively in a team environment and collaborate with professionals from various disciplines.
- Self-motivated with a strong desire to learn and grow in the field of structural engineering and restoration.
