A growing engineering consultancy is looking for a Senior Project Manager with experience in Power Delivery to lead technical projects and client engagements in this specialized sector. This role is focused on overseeing complex projects in areas such as transmission, distribution, substations, renewables, or energy storage, while managing cross-functional teams and fostering strong client relationships.
What You'll Do
Project Leadership
Direct all phases of power-focused engineering projects, from planning through delivery
Coordinate internal teams and external partners to meet scope, schedule, and budget targets
Ensure project deliverables meet technical standards, regulatory requirements, and contract terms
Monitor project health, manage risk, and proactively address challenges (e.g., scope changes)
Lead technical meetings and client presentations
Client + Business Development
Build and expand client relationships within the power delivery sector
Lead proposals, support go/no-go decisions, and drive contract negotiations
Collaborate with leadership to align project strategy with business objectives
Track client satisfaction, identify opportunities for repeat business, and support service expansion
Team Oversight + Mentorship
Guide and mentor project managers and junior staff in technical and leadership development
Set clear expectations and maintain open communication across project teams
Promote coordination between disciplines to improve quality and reduce risk
Strategic + Financial Responsibility
Maintain accountability for project financials including invoicing, collections, and profitability
Support performance tracking, forecasting, and reporting for assigned projects and portfolios
Partner with leadership on long-term client and market strategies
What You'll Bring
Must-Have:
5-10 years of experience managing engineering projects in power delivery (transmission, distribution, substation, renewables, or storage)
Ability to lead multidisciplinary teams and deliver technical work under tight deadlines
Strong communication, problem-solving, and client-facing skills
Understanding of project financials and risk management
Experience mentoring others in project delivery
Nice-to-Have:
Professional engineering license or PMP (or the ability to obtain)
Background in proposal writing and strategic project pursuits
Experience negotiating contracts and aligning teams around long-term goals
Familiarity with utility clients, permitting processes, and regulatory frameworks
