Projecy Manager - Water Recources

Senior Water Resources Engineer - Seller-Doer | Kentucky

Are you a driven and experienced Water Resources Engineer ready to take on a high-impact leadership role? Do you enjoy balancing technical design with client relationships, business development, and account management? Are you looking to grow with a firm that values both engineering excellence and entrepreneurial mindset?

I'm partnering with a respected civil engineering consultancy that's growing its water resources practice across Kentucky. They are actively looking for a Senior Water Resources Engineer to lead projects, mentor junior engineers, manage key accounts, and drive new business in a seller-doer role.

About the Role:

The ideal candidate will have a BS in Civil Engineering and be a licensed PE in Kentucky (or able to transfer). You'll be responsible for managing the design and delivery of stormwater, flood mitigation, and municipal water infrastructure projects, while also leading business development initiatives and maintaining strong client relationships.

You'll serve as a trusted advisor to clients, contribute to proposal strategy, and take an active role in developing the firm's regional presence. If you enjoy a balance of technical leadership, account management, and strategic growth, this is your opportunity.

Qualifications:

  • Education: Bachelor's in civil engineering (Master's a plus)
  • Certification: Licensed Professional Engineer (PE) in Kentucky (or eligible)
  • Experience:
    • 10+ years of civil/water resources engineering experience
    • Strong technical proficiency in Civil 3D, HEC-RAS, and HEC-HMS
    • History of managing multidisciplinary design projects
    • Experience in business development, proposal writing, and client engagement

Why Join This Firm?

  • Seller-Doer Track: Influence both project delivery and client growth strategy
  • Career Advancement: Pathway to leadership and firm ownership potential
  • Flexible Culture: Supportive, collaborative, and autonomy-driven environment
  • Impactful Work: Design solutions that strengthen community resilience
  • Reputation: Be part of a firm known for quality, trust, and long-term client relationships

A Day in the Life:

You'll lead a team of engineers on complex civil and water projects, review and approve technical deliverables, and meet with clients to understand their evolving needs. You'll also identify new opportunities; help prepare winning proposals and represent the firm at key industry events. Mentorship, strategy, and design all come together in this dynamic leadership role.

Other Responsibilities:

  • Develop and manage proposals, scopes, and budgets
  • Provide QA/QC oversight and guide junior staff
  • Represent the firm in client meetings, conferences, and interviews
  • Oversee permitting, hydrologic and hydraulic modelling, and report development
