Field Service Specialist
Job Purpose: Responsible for the start-up and commissioning of DDC-based controls systems following established procedures and guidelines.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Organize Commissioning: Accept projects, analyze timelines, understand requirements, and collaborate with engineering and programming teams.
- Ensure System Operability: Assist in onsite performance verification with the engineer.
- Direct Electrical Subcontractors: Prioritise tasks, answer installation questions, and enforce proper methods.
- Maintain Project Documentation: Update wiring diagrams, sequence changes, check-out documentation, and commissioning sheets; collaborate with Project Managers and Programmers.
- Complete Commissioning: Organize, prioritise, and schedule start-up activities; coordinate programming modifications; turnover to Project Manager for close-out.
- Communicate Project Information: Update Project Managers and Construction Coordinator on progress, deadlines, schedule changes, and log daily work.
- Achieve Financial Objectives: Review monthly job labour cost reports with Ops management; initiate corrective actions.
- Maintain Technical Knowledge: Attend workshops, review industry publications, and stay updated on installation methods and product specifications.
- Contribute to Team Effort: Lead by example, maintain a positive attitude, attend training meetings, assist in training new employees, and share technical information.
- Willingness to Travel: Respond urgently to high-profile customer needs across multiple regions.
Requirements:
- Proficient with Alerton, Distech, Delta, Niagara, or Tridium programming.
