Position: Staff Geotechnical Engineer
Salary: $80,000 - $100,000 per year
Location: Sunnyvale, CA (Hybrid)
About the Role: We are looking for a dedicated and knowledgeable Staff Geotechnical Engineer to join our team in Sunnyvale. This role involves working on a variety of geotechnical projects, providing technical expertise and support to ensure successful project outcomes. The position offers hybrid flexibility, allowing for a combination of remote and on-site work.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct geotechnical investigations and site assessments for various projects.
- Analyze soil, rock, and groundwater conditions to determine their impact on construction.
- Develop geotechnical designs and recommendations for foundations, retaining walls, slopes, and other structures.
- Prepare detailed geotechnical reports and documentation.
- Collaborate with project managers, civil engineers, and other stakeholders to ensure project success.
- Perform field inspections and supervise geotechnical testing and drilling activities.
- Utilize geotechnical software and tools to analyze data and create models.
- Ensure compliance with relevant codes, standards, and regulations.
- Provide technical support and guidance to junior engineers and technicians.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Geotechnical Engineering, Civil Engineering, or a related field (Master's degree preferred).
- Professional Engineer (PE) license or ability to obtain within a year.
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in geotechnical engineering.
- Proficiency in geotechnical software (e.g., GeoStudio, PLAXIS, or similar).
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
- Willingness to travel to project sites as needed.
