Position: Senior Mechanical Engineer
Location: Baltimore, MD
Responsibilities:
- Design mechanical systems for a variety of projects, including educational, industrial, healthcare, laboratory, commercial core and shell buildings, and tenant interior fit-outs.
- Perform cooling and heating load calculations, and air and water distribution system pressure drop calculations.
- Select HVAC equipment and review submittals.
- Conduct plumbing and fire protection calculations and select appropriate equipment.
- Prepare construction drawings, specifications, calculations, cost estimates, and perform field inspections.
- Collaborate with management to respond to RFPs.
- Represent the company in project meetings as needed.
- Utilize Autodesk Revit (preferred) and AutoCAD (required).
- Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Windows.
- Preferred knowledge of energy modeling software.
Qualifications:
- 8-15 years of relevant experience with a Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering.
- PE registration.
- U.S. citizenship required for obtaining clearances.
- Strong team player with effective interpersonal skills.
- Experience with mechanical systems such as chillers, cooling towers, boilers, pumping systems, plumbing systems, generators, and control system coordination is desirable.
- Experience with complex facilities design, particularly for hospitals, data centers, and mission-critical projects, is a plus.
- Ability to work independently while coordinating with electrical disciplines.
- Self-starter with strong prioritization skills and a solid background in mechanical building systems.
- Valid driver's license.
