Senior Electrical Engineer - Power Generation

As a Lead Electrical Engineer, you will:

  • Serve as a Technical Specialist or lead, providing guidance and expertise on Conventional Power Generation Projects and Teams.
  • Develop electrical drawingdeliverables, including:
    • One-line and three-line diagrams
    • Electrical motor schematics, breaker control schematics, and wiring diagrams
    • Power cable sizing and cable schedules
    • Complex engineering calculations such as load flow, short circuit, motor starting (using ETAP or SKM), Arc flash analysis (using ETAP or SKM), protective relay settings, and battery and charger sizing.
  • Create electrical equipment specifications and Bills of Materials (BOM) for procurement and construction.
  • Establish man-hour budgets and schedules for projects and proposals.
  • Attend on-site meetings, investigate existing conditions, interface with clients, and provide support during construction.
  • Utilize Microsoft Office business systems like ProjectWise, electrical engineering software such as ETAP, and Computer-Aided Drafting Tools like AutoCAD to view and manipulate engineering drawing files.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering from an accredited program in the candidate's home country or the country of practice.
  • At least 8 years of relevant work experience.
  • Ability to complete pre-employment onboarding requirements, which may include criminal/civil background checks, drug screening, and motor vehicle records search, in compliance with applicable laws and regulations.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Professional Engineer (PE) License.
  • Experience and expertise in design and project leadership for utility-scale conventional power generation projects.
  • Previous engineering consulting design experience in low voltage (LV) and medium voltage (MV) power.
  • Quality Assurance/Quality Control (QA/QC) and project leadership experience.
  • Ability to work within a schedule and man-hour budget.
  • Familiarity with applicable NEC and IEEE/ANSI standards.
  • Experience with electrical equipment, including but not limited to: MV and LV switchgear, secondary unit substation transformers (GSUT, UAT), panel boards, breakers, protective relays, inverters, batteries, battery chargers, disconnect switches, surge arrestors, medium voltage cables, low voltage cables, control cables, and fiber optic cables.
