Job Title: Project Superintendent - Heavy Civil Construction

Job Summary:

We are seeking an experienced and highly motivated Project Superintendent to join our team specializing in heavy civil construction projects. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in mass excavation, grading, and site development, and will be responsible for managing daily field operations to ensure project success in terms of safety, quality, schedule, and budget.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and manage all on-site construction activities for heavy civil projects.

  • Coordinate and supervise field personnel, subcontractors, and vendors to ensure high-quality and timely project completion.

  • Ensure all work complies with project plans, specifications, and safety standards.

  • Plan and schedule daily and weekly work activities; anticipate and mitigate potential delays or disruptions.

  • Oversee mass excavation, grading, and earthwork operations with attention to efficiency and environmental compliance.

  • Communicate effectively with project managers, engineers, clients, and inspectors.

  • Conduct regular safety meetings and enforce safety protocols across the site.

  • Maintain daily logs, field reports, and site documentation.

  • Monitor equipment usage and materials delivery to ensure smooth progress.

  • Collaborate with project management on cost tracking, resource allocation, and schedule updates.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Minimum 10 years of experience in heavy civil construction, with a strong focus on mass excavation and grading.

  • Proven ability to lead crews and manage complex construction operations.

  • Solid understanding of heavy equipment, GPS and machine control systems, earthwork operations, and site utilities.

  • Strong organizational, leadership, and communication skills.

  • Ability to read and interpret construction drawings, specifications, and contracts.

  • Knowledge of OSHA standards and best safety practices.

  • Proficiency with construction management software and Microsoft Office Suite.

Education & Certifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent required; Associate or Bachelor's degree in Construction Management or Civil Engineering preferred.

  • OSHA 30 certification required.

  • First Aid/CPR certification preferred.

Working Conditions:

  • Must be able to work outdoors in varying weather conditions.

  • Travel to project sites may be required depending on project locations.

  • Extended hours, including nights and weekends, may be necessary based on project demands.
