Water/Wastewater Engineer

Position Overview:
We are seeking an experienced Senior Water/Wastewater Project Engineer/Manager with a minimum of 8 years of experience to join our team. This fully remote position requires the candidate to be based in Maryland, as the work will support branch offices along the East Coast. The role involves planning, designing, and analyzing water and wastewater engineering projects, including pipelines, pumping stations, and treatment facilities. The successful candidate will serve as the firm's representative to clients and manage multiple engineering assignments while ensuring project success.

Key Responsibilities:

• Perform hydraulic calculations and develop layouts for water and wastewater systems.

• Prepare correspondence, reports, and biddable documents for water treatment plants, pumping stations, wells, water storage tanks, piping systems, and wastewater treatment plant improvements.

• Provide engineering support to the inspection department.

• Act as the firm's representative to municipalities, utility authorities, and private utility companies.

• Draft proposals for new projects and maintain strong client relationships.

• Manage multiple assignments simultaneously, ensuring timely delivery and adherence to budget.

• Proactively identify project issues and develop effective, detailed solutions.

• Ensure high-quality deliverables on all projects.

• Handle regulatory permitting and assist with energy audits.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

• In-depth knowledge of water/wastewater equipment and systems.

• Ability to read and interpret complex construction drawings, schematics, specifications, codes, and handbooks.

• Excellent verbal and written communication skills for clear reports, specifications, and correspondence.

• Strong organizational and project management skills to handle multiple projects and deadlines.

• Ability to provide direction and mentorship to less experienced staff.

• Proficient in managing project meetings with clients, staff, and contractors.

• Familiarity with regional water/wastewater regulations and compliance requirements.

• Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel; AutoCAD experience is a plus.

Education & Experience Requirements:

• Bachelor's Degree in Civil, Mechanical, Structural, or Chemical Engineering from an accredited institution.

• Minimum of 8 years of experience in water/wastewater engineering.

• MD PE License required.
