Civil Engineer - Water/Wastewater

Location: Nebraska

Join Our Team! We are seeking a Civil Engineer with 4-10 years of experience in water infrastructure projects to join our team in Nebraska. This technical position focuses on the design and management of municipal water projects, including water main replacements, distribution system improvements, pump stations, and treatment plant upgrades.

This role offers the opportunity to work on a variety of water-related projects while contributing technical expertise, ensuring regulatory compliance, and collaborating with clients and project teams.

Key Responsibilities

Project Execution & Technical Expertise

  • Design and manage water main replacements, distribution system expansions, and other water infrastructure projects.

  • Conduct hydraulic modeling and analysis for water distribution and collection systems.

  • Develop engineering plans, specifications, and cost estimates.

  • Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal regulations.

  • Review and certify engineering documents.

  • Assist municipalities with regulatory compliance and funding applications.

  • Provide on-site engineering support during construction phases.

Project Management

  • Develop project scopes, schedules, and budgets.

  • Oversee project teams and coordinate with subcontractors.

  • Conduct project meetings and ensure quality control.

  • Assist municipalities with contractor selection and bid management.

  • Manage invoicing, project financials, and fee collection.

Client Engagement & Business Development

  • Work directly with municipal clients to deliver engineering solutions.

  • Support proposal preparation and marketing efforts.

  • Participate in professional organizations related to municipal engineering.


Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in civil or environmental engineering.

  • 4-10 years of experience in municipal water infrastructure projects, with an emphasis on water mains and distribution systems.

  • Professional Engineer (P.E.) license required in Nebraska.

  • Experience with hydraulic modeling and GIS applications is a plus.

  • Strong understanding of municipal infrastructure funding and regulatory processes.

  • Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.
