LVI Associates is partnered with a reputable civil engineering firm specializing in infrastructure development and transportation projects. They are currently seeking a highly skilled and experienced Survey Project Manager to join their team and lead their surveying efforts.
Position Overview: As the Survey Project Manager, you will play a crucial role in managing transportation surveying projects. You will oversee a team of surveyors and coordinate surveying activities to support the planning, design, construction, and maintenance of transportation infrastructure projects. Your leadership and expertise will ensure that surveying operations are conducted efficiently, accurately, and in compliance with CDOT standards and specifications.
Responsibilities:
Project Planning and Management: Lead the planning, execution, and delivery of surveying projects, including boundary surveys, topographic surveys, right-of-way surveys, and construction staking.
Team Leadership: Supervise and mentor a team of surveyors, providing guidance, support, and training to ensure the successful completion of projects on time and within budget.
Quality Assurance: Implement quality assurance measures to ensure that surveying data and deliverables meet CDOT standards and specifications, including accuracy, completeness, and compliance with project requirements.
Regulatory Compliance: Ensure compliance with all applicable regulations, codes, and standards governing surveying practices, as well as CDOT policies and procedures.
Resource Allocation: Allocate resources efficiently, including personnel, equipment, and materials, to optimize surveying operations and meet project objectives.
Risk Management: Identify and mitigate project risks, including technical challenges, schedule delays, and budget constraints, to minimize disruptions and ensure project success.
Documentation and Reporting: Maintain accurate project documentation, including survey records, reports, drawings, and correspondence, and prepare regular progress reports.
Technology Integration: Stay abreast of advancements in surveying technology and tools, and leverage innovative solutions to enhance efficiency, accuracy, and productivity in surveying operations.
Stakeholder Communication: Foster positive relationships with project stakeholders to promote collaboration and resolve issues effectively.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in surveying, civil engineering, or a related field. Master's degree preferred.
- Professional Land Surveyor (PLS) license preferred.
- Minimum of 7 years of experience in land surveying, with a focus on transportation projects.
- Proven track record of successfully managing surveying projects, preferably in a consulting or government agency environment.
- Strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Proficiency in surveying software and equipment, including GPS, total stations, CAD software, and OpenRoads.
- In-depth knowledge of CDOT standards, specifications, and procedures related to surveying and transportation projects.
- Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and prioritize tasks effectively.
