Land Development Professional Engineer (PE)
Responsibilities:
- Project Management: Lead and manage land development projects from conception to completion, ensuring adherence to timelines, budgets, and quality standards.
- Design Development: Develop comprehensive site plans, grading designs, utility layouts, stormwater management systems, erosion control plans, and other related designs using AutoCAD Civil 3D or similar software.
- Regulatory Compliance: Ensure projects comply with all relevant regulations, codes, and standards, including zoning ordinances, environmental regulations, and permitting requirements.
- Client Interaction: Serve as the primary point of contact for clients, maintaining strong relationships and providing regular updates on project progress.
- Team Collaboration: Collaborate with architects, landscape architects, surveyors, and other professionals to integrate various design elements into cohesive land development plans.
- Construction Support: Provide technical support during the construction phase, reviewing shop drawings, responding to RFIs, and conducting site visits as needed to ensure project specifications are met.
- Problem Solving: Identify and address design challenges, site constraints, and other issues that may arise during the project lifecycle, proposing effective solutions.
- Quality Assurance: Conduct thorough reviews of project documentation, calculations, and designs to ensure accuracy and compliance with industry standards.
- Continuing Education: Stay updated on industry trends, best practices, and emerging technologies related to land development engineering.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or related field. Master's degree preferred.
- Professional Engineer (PE) license in Minnesota.
- 4-8 years of progressive experience in land development engineering, including site design, grading, drainage, and utility layout.
- Proficiency in AutoCAD Civil 3D, along with other relevant design software.
- Strong understanding of regulatory requirements and permitting processes related to land development projects.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to effectively interact with clients, team members, and regulatory agencies.
- Proven ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously while maintaining attention to detail and meeting deadlines.
- Demonstrated problem-solving skills and the ability to think creatively to overcome design challenges.
