Responsibilities:
- Oversee discipline engineering to ensure alignment with client and project needs for scope, scheduling, and budgets.
- Coordinate the discipline's engineering efforts with those of other project disciplines.
- Maintain meticulous records, files, and documents related to the discipline's activities.
- Ensure technical adequacy and adherence to industry codes and standards.
- Develop comprehensive scopes of work and schedules based on project requirements.
- Establish and manage schedules and budgets, seeking approval from the Manager of Engineering.
- Maintain technical coordination to ensure compliance with industry codes and standards.
- Manage performance evaluations and development plans for discipline engineers.
- Facilitate coordination between the discipline's engineering activities and those of other project disciplines.
- Manage and organize engineering files and records, preparing regular reports and forecasts.
- Schedule, lead, and document discipline engineering meetings.
- Foster the technical and managerial growth of team members.
- Serve as a liaison between discipline engineers, the Manager of Engineering, and the Project Manager.
- Uphold and enhance the overall technical quality of the department.
- Ensure appropriate staffing levels to meet project demands.
- Estimate engineering personnel hours and assist in proposal preparations.
- Take an active role as a working Manager, leading projects and teams.
Experience Requirements:
- Demonstrated proficiency in designing instrumentation and control systems across diverse industries.
- Strong knowledge and experience with PLC and DCS systems.
- Familiarity with relevant industry codes and standards.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Proven ability to work effectively both independently and collaboratively.
- Experience with digital and analog control systems.
- Skilled in coordinating with clients and local authorities.
- Willingness and ability to travel to project sites as needed.
- Prior experience in fieldwork.
