Job Description: As an Associate Structural Engineer, you will play a key role in the design and analysis of industrial projects, focusing primarily on new structural spaces. With a minimum of 10 years of experience in the field, you will bring a wealth of knowledge and expertise to our team. Your responsibilities will include:
- Collaborating with project teams to develop creative and efficient structural solutions for industrial facilities.
- Conducting structural analysis and calculations to ensure designs meet regulatory standards and project requirements.
- Utilizing advanced engineering software and tools to model and simulate structural behavior.
- Participating in site visits and inspections to assess existing structures and identify potential design challenges.
- Providing technical guidance and mentor-ship to junior engineers and interns.
- Communicating effectively with clients, architects, and other stakeholders to address project needs and specifications.
- Remaining up-to-date with industry trends, codes, and best practices to enhance project outcomes and team capabilities.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or related field. Master's degree preferred.
- Professional Engineer (PE) license in the state of Illinois or ability to obtain within six months.
- Minimum of 10 years of experience in structural engineering, with a focus on industrial projects.
- Proficiency in structural analysis software such as ETABS, SAP2000, or STAAD.Pro.
- Strong understanding of relevant building codes and regulations, including ACI, AISC, and IBC.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to think creatively to overcome design challenges.
- Effective communication skills with the ability to convey technical concepts to diverse audiences.
- Proven track record of successfully managing projects and meeting deadlines.
- Experience working in a collaborative team environment.
